Children are born with fundamental freedoms and rights that belong to all human beings. However, with regard to physical and mental immaturity, there is a need to emphasize the special rights of the child to protection that arise precisely from this fact. This is the basic starting point of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly at its session on November 20, 1989.

Each of us has the opportunity to advocate, promote, initiate dialogue and actions that will build a better world for children, and the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Poste Srpske marked this important date in a unique way, by issuing a postage stamp. The most beautiful of this is that the creators of the postage stamp were precisely the children, namely the children of the Public Institution for Children and Youth without Parental Care "Rada Vranjesevic" in Banja Luka, (hereinafter "Home"). This institution is the only one that offers such an organized form of social protection in the Republic of Srpska and provides social and health care, upbringing and education, as well as training for independent living. Through daily work with children, psychophysical growth and development is encouraged, monitored and directed, preferences and abilities of children and youth are revealed, cultural, hygienic and work habits are built, character traits are formed and a constructive attitude towards life and social environment is built.

We thank all the participants of the Home for the unforgettable socializing and wonderful artwork. We believe and hope that these wonderful children through life will realize the rights that belong to them and give their contribution by applying in adulthood.

Children's rights are universal and permanent. Children are our future and every new generation has the opportunity to lay the foundations for a new, better world, a world worthy of a child. We are guided by the thought of FM Dostoevsky "All the ideals of the world are not worth the tears of a child."
