Exactly 70 years ago, on 31 July in 1943 in the ZUPIC in PREKAJ, near heroic Drvar has been published the first issue of "Glas".
The first newspaper editorial today, seven decades later, the first, oldest and best-selling daily newspaper of the Republic of Srpska, made Skender Kulenovic Elijah Dosen, Djuro Pucar Stari Vranjesevic, Vilko Winterhalter, Osman Karabegovic and Bosko Siljegovic.
In the last seven decades, "Glas" came out in hundreds of thousands of pages, and the only one issue of "Glas" was not printed and it was during the last war. Then in the printing house there was no paper.
Among those who had written the pages of this newspaper were many famous names: Branko Copic, Vlado DIAC, Jaroslav Koleska, Nikola Papic, Hasan Kikic, Ismet Mujezinovic, Vojo Dimitrijevic, Milan Gavric ....

War newsroom moved from one place to another in the territory liberated from fascism. In ZUPIC came out 25 numbers of newspapers and then moved to Ribnik. In Sanica was issued one number, and in the fall in 1944. The newspaper moved to Jajce. Immediately after the liberation of Banja Luka in 1945, it "Glas" arrives where remained until today.
"Glas" realize its longtime dream on 8 February in 1983. From that day began to go out every day (except Sunday).
In its history of "Glas" has undergone several name changes "Banja Luka newspaper", "Newspaper of Krajina", "Serbian Glas", "Glas of Srpska" and he went out and in the war, in difficult times, and when the earthquake struck Banja Luka on 27 of October in 1969 the first special edition of newspaper was issued.
The war in the early 1990s of the last century puts "Glas" into new challenges. Newspaper becomes the "Glas of Srpska" and becomes a credible witness and chronicler of the war.
From 15th of September in 1992 the decision of the National Assembly of the RS comes out as the Republic of Srpska daily newspaper, and as the "Glas of Srpske" list out on 5 May 2003.
"Glas of Srpska" was privatized in 2008 and became the majority owner of the company "Independent newspaper".
Today's "Glas" big company and the most respected and best-selling daily newspaper based in the Republic of Srpska.
